At the risk of sounding like a fool. I bought this car without a service history. I'm not saying it hasn't been looked after in its life, but the people who had for the 12 months before me just treated it as any other car. Never had an interest in it really. So now I need to get a list together of jobs to do. I've deleted the EGR and I'm flushing the coolant this week, and I'll just have to work through my list.
I'm looking forward to it. Good to have hobbies

A D2 isn't a Hobby!
They are a bit like a marriage, a long term commitment with lots of ups & downs!
That's a worry, I'm recently divorced, hope this goes better[emoji849]
They both suck the life out of you and leave you broke and drinking to much [emoji3]
I worked out(after many years of stress!!) that divorce was the best money I didn't ever want to spend. Hindsight is a wonderful thing [wink11]
Marriage to a LR(D1 in my case) is far easier by comparison .. I don't complain anywhere near as much with this one, as I used to in my other marriage.
Without our D2a I would never have been able to channel swags of cash into tools including a rotary car hoist and many vehicle mods simply because it is the tow vehicle for wife's horsey addiction!
I have also become a back yard master mechanic in the process...skills which have transferred to the boys supposed ultra reliable patrols (×5 ).
Btw when they break down or they need to tow anything including 3tonnes of firewood...guess which car they go for 😎
