Laslo, I'm guessing you have salt on the roads in winter there like the UK?

We just don't have the rust issues Europe has so shock turrets aren't commonly replaced here.

I will check if i can get good condition used ones but in hungary the chance is low. The other option is to lasercut the base ring (5mm steel) and change on the original one (cut the rusted one off and weld the new one).

Yes the weather is not ideal here for keeping the car for long time in good condition. The roads are salty during winter time. See how my turret looks now.

Fortunatelly the whole chassis is in good condition, I had some surface rust on the back side but removed and painted.
I will check on Monday what I can find here as used one but I am afraid that all will be similar like mine. Then the only choice will be a new one.

I wouldn't call that(listing on ebay) "OK condition".

I'd buy the Paddocks turrets ... if your plan is to keep the D2 long term.

I'd get the gal ones also, especially because of the salted roads. It may also help prevent rust between the turret and the spring perch.

I have found a pair used one in quite good condition (and cheap, only about $40) and will get them tomorrow. I will passivate and paint the critial area (also did the front and rear suspension mounting area) and use them. I will see how long will they last. If I will need to change them soon, and the rest of the car will be still in good shape, I will buy the galvanized ones.
