D2 - sticking rear view mirror back onto front windscreen

Any hot tips for resecuring the rear view mirror onto the front windscreen? The Hobart heat wave of a few days above 25*C seems to have been a bit too much for her...

Windscreens O'Brien fixed mine back after it came adrift. Not sure if it was a 2 pack or not but he made sure he roughed up the back face on a flat cement path before applying the stuff.

According to this thread, Rear view mirror removal? - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum , Loctite 319 is the only thing that works < Henkel Adhesives >.

The old one looks like the mount (metal piece that the rear view mirror slides onto) was double sided taped in place. Microcat shows the mount as number 9 but doesn't list any further information or part number for it:

I'm thinking about taking it to a proper windscreen place to fix as want it secured properly and well so that it doesn't come off when bouncing along tracks etc. Given that it's got the electric cable which I cannot see how it easily disconnect and the fancy compass inside the mirror, there's a lot of weight to it if it lets go and starts flapping around - could result in broken mirror or even window damage on a rough track...

At least they should guarantee their work.

Loctite could have been what O'briens used, I never saw the actual stuff.

Ended up using DynaGrip Rear View Mirror Adhesive - 0.9mL < DynaGrip Rear View Mirror Adhesive - 0.9mL | Supercheap Auto>. Used a scrapper to clean up the window glass and get the old double sided adhesive off the metal button part, then sand paper on the metal button part before following the instructions on the packet. So far it’s holding strong.
