What biggin said. wrong number of teeth.
What biggin said. wrong number of teeth.
Usually those with wrong number of teeth doesnt trigger 3 amigos cos only the sensor's circuit is checked, the symptom in that case is usually erratic TC behaviour without any fault code cos at the same speed of both wheels the SLABS gets different speed inputs which is considered wheel slip and kicks in when it's not necessary.
replace the shuttle valve switch and do the bypass mod first, the nanocom has reported that one of the switches ( of the 2 ) is sticking
If it started with the new tyres, then the most obvious issue lies with the new tyres.
Did you get all four new tyres, or just new fronts or new rears?
If only a new pair for an axle, are they the same size, same brand?
If different brands, but same size, don't assume that same size tyres from different brands are actually the same sizes!
Also how much air in each tyre, and stuff like that.
The tyres are a new set of Mickey Thompson's, all 4. I think there are two problems at play, the shuttle valve and the ABS sensor on the hub. I still have the old hub, would it make a difference (and is it possible) to swap the ABS sensor over from the old to the new one ? I am heading off camping this morning with a couple of the children to the Alps, does the 77 amigos (!!) mean my traction control and ABS is not working ? I tried the down hill assist on our driveway (steep) and it worked, but there was no braking, but not needed.
We will be close to the snow and was hoping to be able to take the car for a play ?
Thanks for all your help as always.
Matt.
sensors are swappable,, will be easier with the wheel removed. RAVE shows how but looks easy enough...

Finally swapped over replacement shuttle valves during the weekend, and happy to report that all the warning lights have disappeared.....wait for it.....unless I am reversing ! When I engage revers, I get about a two second noise that sounds like the traction control, even standing still and the traction control light comes on. If I then drive forward, all ok, but if I reverse for any distance, the warning lights all come back on.
Fault code I am getting is 18-06 rear left electrical failure - Intermittent 018 times.
So obviously it is a problem with the rear hub still, and from what has been said here, I might well have a hub with a different number of splines. I never heard of this before, nor had the guy in the local Land Rover spares place in Ringwood. He said their was only one part number for the rear hub.
So very glad I have fixed the problem going forward, but if I want to head into the bush, I need to try and get to the bottom of this and solve it permanently.
Cheers, Matt.
