Engine Storage.

calling "td5 gurus ":- looks like a home made cover has been fitted to fuel pressure regulator. it as a barbed hose outlet attached as well.

what's it for ? old school mod ??? is barb a drain or should it be fitted to something ??

if the regulator is still in there then it is a drain, which is odd thing to manufacture why not just replace it if leaking. we used to set up remote adjustable regulators but i must admit a strange thing to do on a td5.

remove the oil pressure sensor, adapt it to a small facet pump and pump oil in for a minute or 2 then crank the engine over slowly,

put the sensor back in and now turn it on the starter.

at present i have 2 spare engines so no need to use this engine. i'll put it back in its box. might fit into parts car at later date to give it a run, or pass it on to someone who needs it.

The crack in the FPR housing would likely mean replacing it if putting the engine back in service...
