Dexron VI is a thinner fluid at low temperatures, to provide better fuel economy. It is specced to have the same viscosity as Dex3 at normal operating temperature. And it has later technology additives for lock up clutches and bands.
Off topic, I have just changed the fluid in a ZF 6 speed, and the ZF lifeguard 6 fluid was like water A liter of it ran through the funnel and a 3/8" tube in the time it took me to open the next bottle.
Update: I’ve found a 160000k transmission for less than 1/3 of the TRS price from a LR friend near me who wrecked a D2 a year or 2 ago.
I’ve bought an ATB diff centre and a high capacity sump from Ashcrofts and I’m going to rebuild my spare TC. I’ve already got the rebuild kit, but Ashcrofts recommend silicon as a sealer.
What sealers should I buy? I only want to do this once so I’d like high quality sealants.
the loctite range, hylomar #3 and stag.
if you do a quick search there should be some threads in tech or good oil from me that list the types and uses.
