Step by step guide for swapping from MSB to NNN ECU’s TD5

Having a bit of difficulty swapping out MSB for NNN ECU. My current bottleneck is revolving around stock maps and the SD card.

From what I have found here on the forum I believe the process should look something like this:

    - load the correct map for ECU and Vehicle
    - Configure throttle
    - Configure injector codes
    - Sync security code with BCU

Pretty sure I have the last three parts down. Stuck on part one, load the correct map. Went to NANOCOM. com > downloads and support > downloaded the file: NANOCOM Map Wizard installer package for me this file comes up as a VLC that will not play on VLC, not sure what to do from here? where do I get a suitable stock map that I can write onto the new ECU? Do I even need a stock map?

    TIA

Yes, you need a stock Eu2 map file which is compatible with your NNN ECU's part number if that's what you want not some remapped file, see the attached list, i doubt you'll find such thing online for free.

VLC? .... as in the media player?

The Map Wizard installer should be a compressed .rar file.
Right click it(assuming Windows PC here too!) and you should have an option to extract it.
If Windows doesn't natively give you that option to extract the .rar file, google a nice little program called 7zip.
Install it and then try to extract the .rar file.(using the right click method).
If you have 7zip installed, it will(or ask you too) install the context menu option(this is the right click option).
So when you have a zip or rar or whatever compressed file, 7z comes up in your right click menu list.

Once you've got that far and you decompress the MapWizard rar file, it will(or should) decompress itself into it's own folder called Map Wizard installer.
Inside this folder is the exe file(same name) that you double click to install the Map Wizard program.

Sounds a bit convoluted, but this compression(same as zip, different format/name) saves them a lot of space/download/time .. etc.
    1/10th the size when compressed.

hope it all works for 'ya.

Ok, so now I need to find a stock map. I thought these were available easily. I actually thought the map wizard would’ve had one on it

Yes VLC media file. I’m using a mac and that’s how the file downloads.

It seems like this will all be a slightly easier process if I use a windows computer.

I can access some windows computers at uni, so when i go back next semester I will sort it out.

The car is running fine atm with the new ECU and the injector codes, throttle settings and synced security settings.

I am waiting on a tune from jose so hopefully he’ll have one for me soon enough.

That list was originally posted to AULRO by Tombie about 8-9 years ago, so it's most definitely online and free.

I put together a list of stock maps (attached) a few years ago that I include with the ECU debrick scripts which covers EU2 and EU3.

It probably has more detail than necessary but it's been derived from a flat database I found that was part of TestBook software.
MTurri did a lot of the grunt work in decoding the correspondence between Nanocom map designators and LR codes.

Sorry, maybe i didnt express myself well... i didnt mean that the list is not online free cos off course that's how i've got it too, i meant that i doubt that the tuning files/fuel maps which can be loaded with nanocom are available just like that answering to the OP's question:
where do I get a suitable stock map that I can write onto the new ECU?

Thanks guys, I started this thread not just to help myself but others. I figure the title makes it easy for others to search.

I have since sorted this issue by getting a map from TD5inside.

Works great. Did need to use windows though. Mac just wouldn't work, could be more down to my computer illiteracy though...

Have an nnn from Jose' with map installed. Also thanks for starting this thread, it did make it easier to find! Also it runs awesome and I haven't even done the boost adjustment yet!
