After 20. That's what my Nanocom would say.
Well today I replaced the Oil Cooler Gasket in Bessie.
Everything went to plan until the removal of the Centrifugal oil filter. 2 Things happened.
- The top right bolt was just spinning in its housing, not biting into anything. When I removed the bolt I found that there was thread stuck to the bolt. So will be addressing that tomorrow. The same thing happened when I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator a few months back, and to fix I replaced the original bolt with a longer bolt, so will see if that works again,
 - The bolt on the left side of the Centrifugal filter also was an issue. The 10mm head was rounded. After asking questions in another post on the forum, I managed to remove the bolt by forcing a 9mm socket onto the rounded 10mm head. I was then able to remove the bolt.... Happy days[biggrin]

I have now cleaned all the separate parts that I have removed and replaced the required gaskets, o-rings and washers.
Thats it for today. I will refit everything tomorrow.

Will post the final result tomorrow once I have completed the refit.
Have a great night everyone.

Well todays job was to put everything I took off back together.
It went well, but as with everything had a few issues along the way.
Had to helicoil one of the bolts which holds the Centrifugal oil filter. First time I have ever had to do that procedure. It was a bit nerve racking while drilling into the original bolt hole. However it worked and I was able to torque up the bolt to the required setting :)
The hardest job of the day was getting the oil drain pipe back onto the turbo, took a bit of coaxing to get the bolts in and done up. I hope I dont have to do that again to soon.
Filled her back up with coolant, and bled the cooling system. Took her for a run, and she runs fine... YAY.
Now the only issue is....... When I went for a long run, the Temperature guage went from 3 oclock to 4 oclock then back up a couple of times. Have read through the forums that this could either be the sensor or the thermostat.
Fix one issue and another develops. Got to love running Discovery.
Thanks everyone for your continued advise both here and in other topics that I have created when asking for help.
Cheers

The temp gauge goes to "3 Oclock " when the engine temp is about 70C.
If it drops to 4 oclock I would first check the connection on the sensor. It is an Injector type connection and a bit of a spray with contact cleaner and a few on and off will fix that.
When it goes back to 4 oclock the ECU changes the timing of the injectors and what else I don't know but I do know that it makes the engine vibrate more and use more fuel.
Try that first before spending money.

Thanks for the tips guys.
I checked and cleaned the sensor as per Phillips suggestion. Once that was done Temp guage stays at 3 o'clock.
Havent lost any coolant or oil since replacing oil cooler gasket and all o-rings and gaskets inbetween :) that was the first "Major" (for me) pull down job I have done with the engine.. So glad that I was able to get it all back together and everything still works :)
Cheers
