    Disco 2 td5 immobilised without eka

    Hi folks I am in Seven hills NSW and my disco 2 fob won't deactivate the security system. Have changed batteries and fob is working but the receiver in car seems dead. I rang Landrover Australia to obtain the Eka but they did not have it on file so will request it from the UK. In the meantime my vehicle is stuck in a public carpark. Any ideas what to do? Would a nanocom get me out of trouble? I have the key and can open with it but obviously the alarm goes off. Have tried aiming the fob at the roof but no luck.

    Start the engine ASAP after opening with the key - the alarm should stop.

    Hi, as long as it's immobilised no tester will communicate with the BCU, i doubt that it will start after you unlock with the key without the EKA you are stuck untill you can make the fob to unlock the vehicle one way or another.

    It won't start after opening with key. I think the receiver in the roof is stuffed. Anyone know of somebody in Sydney wrecking one.

    Is there a chemist nearby? It was years ago that chemist shop electronic systems interfered with the D2 alarm/immobiliser so the vehicle had to be moved far enough away to be out of range.

    Maybe the key needs to be re-matched to the immobiliser so a Nanocom might help.

    Its been too long (9 years) since I had a D2 for me to remember the finer details of the immobiliser.

    Don't know about the D2 but a mate of mine has a p38 that had the same fault. Could open the door but alarm would go off and wouldn't crank. Checked battery voltage . Recharged overnight. All good.
