    LT230 transfercase 1.2 ratio, removed from a 1996 300tdi Discovery

    Would this fit in a D2? if so, pros, cons

    lt230 - 1996 300TDI

    The front out put housing is different ( the one with centre diff ) as it has more switches attached to it , Even D2 & D2a have a different number of switches, I have fitted a D1 V8 LT230 TO MY 2004 D2a.using the original front output housing. Note: front output flanges are different as well. Yes it has been done before. there may also be a switch screwed into the main housing for High /Low selection that's not there on the D1, take pic's in this area & compare. if your mechanical you can do it.
