    Another Ute Chop??

Hi all, just curious if there is a rear panel available for a D2 chop? I am looking to do a Dual cab chop on my 02 D2 ( very early stages yet), I am a panelbeater by trade and I have a metal fabricator lined up aswell. I am going to pick the brains of an engineer who is VASS approved (VicRoads) this week, but the research I have done is leading me to a custom rear panel. The chop ( at this stage) is probably be at the front of the Alpine windows. Any and all input greatly appreciated. Cheers Brett.

I'm not aware of any commercially made panels, LRA used to do a panel for their RRC kits but don't think they make them anymore except on special order.

DC on a D2... I hope you’re doing a chassis extension or it will have less space back there than a Suzuki Mighty Boy.

Yeah Tombie, looking at about 700mm for now. But will leave the final decisions to the engineer, also will be depending on the tray i use.

There are kits for D1, D2 & RRC here.

There is a guy in SA in LRO magazine that converted his D2. He said he was looking at bringing in some kits.

i'd be surprised if those fibreglass kits would pass engineering without be steeled out.

The one in the mag is registered in SA. You keep the roof and B pillar. I believe the fibreglass roof goes over the top of the steel roof and the rear section attaches to the B pillars.

    Hi Barkz.
I don't know of any kits to make a D2 dual cab. Working out the rear doors would be a challenge, especially if the wheelbase was extended.
