I had Magnecor with no problem on my dual fuel P38A.
What do you guys recommend for HT lead replacement?
Last OEMs only lasted less than 3 yr, and they are not coping with the heat around the plugs and its starting to miss occasionally.
Fine on petrol.
I read that OEM are preferred, but perhaps magnaore or bosch.
Its a 4.6 on lpg
Regardless of choice, not looking fwd to doing it again.

Use the best leads you can get with LPG. You may be able to get custom made ones.
Also reduce your spark plug gap, maybe by 1/4. LPG is harder to fire than petrol and a big gap breaks the leads and coils down quicker.
Also check your coils for arcing.
Have a look under your bonnet at night whilst engine running, if you see lots of sparks you will need to replace bits.

I've read the removal of one engine mount helps fitting,,
have you changed the thermostat?
for one reason or another mine no longer has the plastic cross plate next to the bottom of the rad,
with those two things mine seems to run well on LPG now...

How many people are still using Autogas? Some servos around here have taken out their LPG bowsers as they no longer sell enough. The taxi fleet went hybrid years ago. The big fleets now are running smaller fuel efficient cars with the demise of Holden and Falcon. The cost of a gas conversion to a small fuel miserly can not be recovered.

I have the plugs gapped smaller
It was when i replaced the plugs 6 month ago,, i noticed the leads, especially around the plug boots are very hard, and I had to replace a boot, it was running fine, but has started to miss a little so I know these leads are not lasting thats in there atm.
I run Bosch leads from Supercheap and not have an issue - as long as they remain clean and are in good condition most leads will work fine.

underbonnet heat in the D2 8's is a real thing,,
mine once stopped running on LPG in the main drag of Warick over Chrissy one year,,
any extra circulation under there can only help...

We still have two Hi Aces on LPG,the older high mileage ones have been sold, the newer ones are diesel.
The LPG ones are overall, cheaper to run than diesel, and nicer to drive, but the reason we have changed is the lack of garages with LPG.
Never changed a lead on any of them, many did well over 300 000km.The OEM leads are excellent quality.
But the old Mitsy vans always needed leads every 100 000km or so,genuine ones were the best, any aftermarket leads were hopeless.
