Hi all,
thanks for the replies.
I tested the MAF today. Drove to/from work with the MAF unplugged, the car did not going into an over-boost (surging etc) situation while giving it heavy acceleration.
It seems like the MAF is causing issues (either directly or just because it senses too high air flow)
I tested the waste-gate actuator spring with a compressor, it operates correctly when pressure applied, doesn't leak and not seized.
I tested the MAF with a multi-meter:
Fuse 2 is working correctly.
With ignition on:
MAF Pin 1 - Ground - Good connection
MAF pin 2 - Ground - N/A
MAF pin 3 - Ground - 12V
With Engine running:
MAF Pin 1 - Ground - Good connection
MAF pin 2 - Ground while Idling - 2.15 V
MAF pin 2 - Ground while stationary Revving at 4000 rpm - 4.72 V
MAF pin 3 - Ground - 12V (well more like 14V due to the battery charging)
To me these are symptoms of a good working MAF?
I will investigate into possible boost leaks around the inter-cooler tomorrow and other hoses (again)
Is it possible for the fuel pump to give the required pressure when stationary, but when the car id traveling (demanding more) it could be "under performing"?
just a question the last 2 services the fuel pump pressure has been tested and given the OKAY (i assume they do this while stationary though.
Cheers
Hayden
