    Is this OK to ask?

    Hi All,
Another matter related to 'Lady Daphne II' (2003 DIIA EU3 Td5 auto): When purchased a couple of years ago, she already had a TRS-labelled ECU. When all is working properly (see my other recent post...) she goes well with plenty of power. But she will reach excessive EGTs (>750 C) quite easily if you're not careful, and especially when towing. On a short towing trip, EGT would rocket over 700 C in 3rd lock-up at nowhere near full throttle.
Now, I know there's lots of alternative tunes available but as I don't have a lot of spare cash at the moment, would it be considered ethically OK to ask for a copy of the factory standard map for this model? Please note, I specifically do not want a pirated copy of an aftermarket map.
    Please let me know.

PS: I have a Nanocom so should be able to load a map from an SD card.

I think that the Nanocom site has a page of standard maps for download.
Whoops I just looked and couldn't see it.
Someone should come along and give you a location for download

    Regards PhilipA
If you get stuck I have downloaded one from My ECU (2002 EU3 Auto) and can send it to you or email it.

Just be advised to be safe you MUST keep volts high when doing downloads . I bought a 20 amp power supply at Jaycar when doing mine as I didn't want a bricked ECU.

BTW most if not all modified programs will give high EGTs. that is why you free up the exhaust and fit a big intercooler. Mine is better now but I cannot use cruise control while towing and I still have to drive by the EGT gauge sometimes even not towing.

Just after I got my D1 Tdi, my mechanic noted that the exhaust may be blocked/old. No worries, $300 for a new freer flowing exhaust wasn't an issue to the finances, got it done.
Definitely more power with the new free flowing exhaust, but more drone(at the 90-100 range of all things! )
Had a bit of a muck about with the injection pump to give a few more powers after I fitted my EGT gauge, and found a good balance between hitting 700°C and half decent uphill climbs in the underpowered Tdi.

Then I stupidly had a quieter rear silencer fitted as I caved in to the 90-100 drone noise. Idiot! .. EGT maxed out at 750-ish now up the same climbs I used to see high 600's .. back to back the IP off a little more again.

I'd say, because the funds are the limitation for now, maybe pull the IC give it a good cleanout. Can you afford a hundred or so $ to get a freer flowing muffler or something?

My brother's 03 has a TRS (stickered) ECU too. I've been trying to get him to get at the least an EGT gauge for his D2 for the past 3 or 4 years now(he's a hard head!!). Good power, but I worry about it's EGTs to.
