Hi Phillip, I gave up on the light and am just focused on getting it back together now. Ive gone to connect the CDL link to the leaver and it doesnt line up. it sits about an inch forward of the leaver. its positioned with the pivot point and bolted to the CDL nipple.. Any ideas on why this is and how I could rectify?
Cheers

That is a D1 linkage as you probably know. do you have the bottom bit facing the correct way.

Yep, I do. I think the issue I have is I have the same arm the u have there (u channel) on anu auto set up which according to part list was on manuals up to a certain point. But all the info/instruction I can find indicate that that arm there is for auto's and the manual has the flat bar style. Im thinking ill have to turn the plate that sits on the CDL nipple around to bring the arm back (but I think that will turn around orientation of the direction of the shifter) or use a bolt to join the arm to the lever assembly.
it definitely cam off a manual here is what I took it off

So here are the two versions.
maybe bend up a bit of strap to suit.

One last time.
Have you got the bit that connects to the transfer case in the same orientation as on the car you took it off.
It seems to me that the wrong distance at the top would equal the arm being on back to front on the transfer case.
