D2 auto trans valve body service

I’ve just finished putting my new transfer case in as well as completing a lot of other work. I dropped a bit of trans oil (200mL) while up on an angle on ramps. The first drive had very hard shifting into 2nd and not until going quite fast. The car never did this last time I drove it. I topped up the auto as per rave and it’s still doing it. It was nearly full anyway. It’s been running Transmax Z for the past 50,000km and generally shifts nicely except for 2nd where it hunts around a bit at the shift point. Still shifted smoothly before. I put a new filter in about 30,000km ago. I’m wondering how hard it is to remove the valve body and service or change solenoids etc along with advice on the price and sourcing of a seal/solenoid kit. I’m not in the mood for buying a new trans after just installing my new Ashcroft transfer case. I’m thinking that 6 months of sitting has affected seals or solenoids. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I tried that with no luck, but then I disconnected the grey connector next to the main ecu as well as the black connector on the ecu and drowned them with contact cleaner. I’ve never touched the grey plug before and never cleaned the black one. The car now shifts smoother than it has ever done. It’s also lost a 2nd gear hesitation that it used to have while coasting down slight inclines with a small amount of throttle. VERY happy to say the least.

I read an old thread recently where offtrack mentioned that the cables can track or capillary ATF fluid similar to the TD5 injector loom and a good spray out at the connectors can help.
