1999 discovery 2 engine wont stop with key and other faults

    Hi All,
My 1999 discovery has developed a bunch of faults. It started while my daughter was driving, the indicators topped working and then when she arrived home, the car would not lock with the fob.
By the time I cam home and had a look, the indicators now work, but with the key out, the odometer is flashing (and light up), the battery and oil light are on and the SLS light in the bottom left corner of the dash is on. The car still won't lock.
The engine starts with the key but keeps running when the key is turned off - until you press the brake pedal (which kills the engine)
I have tried searching but found nothing.
    Any Ideas?

    Regards, Scott

Just a little more, I had the key turned around to "gauges on", all dash lights went out (and the odometer went blank) apart from the trip meter. I left it that way while I mucked around with the Nanocom (found nothing unusual....) but when I turned the key off, the fuel pump came to life and every light on the dash lit up and stayed that way until I turned the key back on, now I am back to battery, oil and sls with a flashing odometer.....

    Regards,
    Scott

It looks like one or more components in your car (might be fuses, BCM or ECU) are playing up. Please tell more details of how did you get your indicators working back?

There are numerous of reasons why the fob would not lock the doors: jammed door locks, faulty driver door lock, faulty receiver, faulty fob, faulty bonnet lock... So be patient and tell all things you found there, I believe other members with more exp would help you out.

Actually I have done nothing and the problems have fixed themselves ............ for now ......
Came home from work ready to start looking and it all works!
I think I have to spend some time looking for moisture / corrosion in connectors, etc.
    regards

    As suggested by Bradtot

Check for corrosion at the internal fuse box, you'll need to unplug it and take it out to check. Not too hard to do.... While it's out give it a liberal spray/clean with a good quality electrical cleaner and also give the circuit boards a scrub with a tooth brush and pipe cleaner between the printed circuit boards.

Go to the top of the class. Don't take your books, you'll probably be coming back.
