Can anyone explain to me WHY a 2001 Disco 2-TD5 with a 'braked towing weight' of 3500kg .. reduces to a capacity of ONLY 2000Kg with the vehicle loaded to legal payload.
The Disco 2 is built like a tank and uses a pretty solid transmission so why such a huge drop?
Is it to do with brake size?

Yep - just for confusion......
...but it is surprising that the D2 towing capacity when at GVM is more like a Freelander than a Discovery.
