Td5 D2 black smoke after changing MAF

Hi guys i have d2 2003 model td5.My old maf sensor was giving low acceleration on load so i change it with brand new Maf genuine land rover one.Now my ride drives great and overall pick is very much increased but it is puffing black on on acceleration which is very annoying for me.There was no black smoke on old maf whats could be the possible reason for it.
    Thanks

Could it be something else that has been masked by the low acceleration?

EG blocked air filter, partially collapsed intercooler hose, low boost from turbo. Another one .Dirty MAP sensor .

I have never experienced black smoke even with a tune and bigger intercooler. the only time mine has ever smoked was when an intercooler hose blew off, and then only for a few seconds.

I don't know if a MAF can even cause black smoke.

One possibility tat I just thought of is that maybe the intercooler has quite a bit of oil in it and the increased performance/airflow is pulling it into the engine.

Realistically the only way MAF could cause black smoke on an EU3, is if it is faulty and is supplying incorrect air flow figures to the ecu.
This is possible, so check the airflow readings if possible.
If not, put the old one back on and see what happens.

Other than that , check you haven't left any hoses undone, and that you didn't leave anything blocking the intake(rag for instance) when you reassembled.
