Thread: Rear double seat release

    Post Rear double seat release

I managed to break the rear (double) seat release that lies the back down (the red part).

Probably just tired plastic after 20 years, and not sheer hamfistedness, oh no!

Sheer optimism, but has anyone had cause to make a 3d printed replacement in the past, and maybe has a file to share?

I broke the left hand one. I went to Lrparts.ru, they have changed their site, unable to get a part number. But. A bloke on Facebook Land Rovers AU buy swap and sell public group | Facebook is wrecking a few D2's. I've messaged him about the parts we need.

    Fantastic!

It was just a shot in the dark before I had to try and CAD up a part.

That sounds so fancy. "Mash at keys until something comes out, and prints at ⅛ scale" is more like it.

Can you post a photo of the broken bit? I can forward this to the guy, make sure you get the right part.

I've broken the same latch on mine, and even after finding the part # was unable to locate a new replacement. If you are able to source or create a printable replacement please share it on here.

I believe the part # for this is HWO100020CCG, but it is obsolete now. This isn't much help, but I did find another guy who seems to have successfully printed some replacements here - https://www.africaland.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=112784

Plastic, Rear & 20 years? That'd be Land Rover's Australian Testing Program coming into play where the Engineers come out to Australia for a 6 months Junket & have a jolly old time in the Outback & if they do find the time, they may actually get around to testing the Prototype Vehicle & writing up a report. If they don't have time, then what you see is what you get. Not for nothing is it referred to as the WYSIWYG Excuse.
