The engine had new injector seals and O rings in Oct 2015. Would they go bad so quickly?

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

IMO it depends on how much the engine ran in these years and if the parts were genuine or not

    My bad, more like 90,000km.
Any way the pressure test gear will get here, one day...
That will confirm or eliminate the pump.

I had similar issue with the pump. It felt low on power but would drive normally, but if you needed to overtake. Forget it....

It was the pump. I replaced it with a ebay pump and it lasted maybe 4 months. However, this would work well for an hour but after an hours driving the pump just could push the 4bars. I end up replace the pump only from somewhere in Europe. Has been good ever since.

    I don't reckon it's your injector seals

Injector seals are cheap to replace, compared to the pump. The pump is a whole lot easier to replace. I'm hoping the pump is the cause.

    FUEL PUMP LAND ROVER DISCOVERY II 2.5 TD TD5 WFX101080 WFX000240 WFX000280 | eBay

It's a little fidley to swap over but much cheaper than buying the complete VDO pump

Easy once you've done it once before.
Initial hard part is to undo the locking ring. Can't imagine it will come undone by hand. IIRC we used the tappy-tap-tap method with a screwdriver(or something).
Have a largish container handy to dump the excess diesel out of the fuel pump body. Maybe 1/2 a litre or so will come out WITH the pump.

Install is hard on your own. Others seem to have done it themselves.
Install the rubber seal first then push the pump in ... and needed a lot of downward pressure against the springloaded body to get the lockring on the thread to start it.
