Alpine iLX-702D Parts For Fitting To Land Rover Discovery 2 by Matt2000 - Thingiverse
All have a few interesting bits designed.
I'm working on a bracket to fit in the sun roof control panel to hold a uhf radio.
Thanks for that, it was the one I originally saw!! Just comparing the unit he put in Alpine iLX-702D 7" touch
Attachment 165605
Can see now why he had to do so such modification as the body sits at the base, on the X801- D the body is 2" above the base of the unit
Attachment 165606
So seeing this again, the top of my unit might just go over the top of the dash proper and I will be able to use the cut out piece with modification (and not be too ugly).
This said the job he did was pretty spectacular.

If you would be up for giving something on a defender a try, these mud cubby inserts are stupid expensive to buy and i believe would be relatively simple to 3d print? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7e9650e7f3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...11c24f7cac.jpg
That should be pretty straight forward, although it will have to come in 2 or more parts due to the size. I can try to make them bolt together at the centre. It's missing a few dimensions though, namely the depth, the size of the gap between the two containers, and the thickness of material. If you're able to source that I can have that done pretty quickly I reckon.
The pic shows where I would like to mount the gauge.
The gauge mount would have to be large/long enough to also accommodate the wiring.
I would like the hole in the dash for the wiring to be hidden inside the housing
I am not sure how to attach to dash though.
A couple of thoughts. The housing is made in two parts. The main housing with a removable front panel.
The housing gets screwed to the dash internally so screws are hidden, then a front panel with the gauge attached then gets inserted into the housing held by screws or clips.
My other thought is to have a base plate screwed to the dash, with the main body then being clipped to the base.
As I do not have any idea of the complexity of designing this type of thing I have no idea as to how hard this is.
New sunroof drain corner boxes with reinforced outlets would be useful as I dont believe these are available.
