Excuse my ignorance but are the bell auto and allisport vgt turbo the same? Are they both turbo technics? I tried to find out but couldn't find anything. I'm leaning towards the Turbo Technics S208.
Also I have a hybrid remap from Jose. Will I need a complete new map or could he modify it?

Yes, they are just sellers of the same Turbo Technics brand product. Hence why both of those two stores have TurboTechnics on their ads... and why I linked them as places to buy that unit from...

Jose edits his maps free of charge. He is very familiar with tuning for the S208 as he has done so remotely for a large volume of Australian customers. He can however take a long time to do things so I'd suggest contacting him now about it as you will likely be waiting weeks - months.

I installed my spare standard turbo back on so I can drive it around. You can definitely tell the difference between the hybrid and standard turboTd5 VGT Turbo vs Hybrid turbo.....Anyone tried both?. Although it still has the hybrid remap. I'm leaning towards buying the vgt turbo from Bell auto service. I'm just about over the line and ready to buy it.
Would I be right in saying you have this turbo on your D2? What sort of boost are you running? And more importantly are you happy with its all round performance? Have you used it to tow anything heavy?

    Cheers
    Chris

Running a tune designed for a different turbo will be increasing the performance difference between the two. Hope you are monitoring your EGT.

    Yes.

It varies, but I think my peak is around 22-23psi.

Yes. I've dealt with all the other factors to match and suit it to though - diff gears to match the tyre sizes, large torque converter to be able to drive off the low down torque, maximised exhaust flow, good tune to suit, appropriate intercooler, etc. The turbo itself isn't enough magic but in conjunction with everything else can work wonderfully.
It's provided my with 9 years and 135,000km of solid reliable performance.
I'm interested in trying some of the new offerings but sourcing them into Australia and having the vehicle tuned to suit isn't currently an option available.

Yes. Car trailers with vehicles loaded, horse floats with horses in, boats, plant trailers with diggers on them, etc.

I'm probably running a similar set up to you. I've got 4.11 gears with 33 inch tyres... serck intercooler, same amount of boost, 2 inch lift, remapped by Jose. EGR delete and centre muffler delete. Exhaust manifold with egt gauge and about to fit an oil pressure gauge with alarm Td5 VGT Turbo vs Hybrid turbo.....Anyone tried both?. Will probably go a large exhaust in the future.

I wouldn't bother. Unless you have a turbo of large enough size that the turbo manufacturer requires or recommends you to (e.g. TurboTechnics S220 I believe specifies 3" exhaust). The Td5 is only a small 2.5L motor, it doesn't rev particularly high, if you have 2.5" exhaust pipe with good bends and high flow mufflers, resonators, cat converters and Flexi joint, the engine exhaust flow requirements won't exceed the 2.5" exhaust.
3" exhaust weighs more (which negatively impacts performance) and more chance of rub/fouling elsewhere on the vehicle.

Looking forward to fitting it up. For anyone interested I'll post up my thoughts on it, especially compared to the hybrid I had on it previously.

Preferably after having an appropriate tune done for it...
