All can be done, a lot of guys oversees are running standalone in cars of various guises, although I strongly doubt the 2a front end would be strong enough to take the weight of the td5, but I could be wrong, I guess the Holden weighs a bit.
Either way it would be a huge task!

A few years ago I sold an R380 box and pedal set to a fella who wanted it for his 3rd td5 conversion into series Landy's so can definitely be done .
Would be a great power to weight ratio

I dont think the front end would be to much of a problem the holden is lighter than the 2.25 engine ,they are a heavy engine and with leaf springs it is easy enough to beef them up .As far as being a huge task I have a shed full of them ,it is only a matter of picking which one .

hi folks.
for what its worth , i have a td5 engine with an "amc" head in my parts car . no auto box / lt230 . all i had to do to get it running was plug in spare xyz switch which was set to "p" and fit a spare bell housing to carry the crank sensor. i run it up every month to keep things sweet. pete.

That section will have to be edited in the ECU, assuming you're not transplanting an auto with the engine.
