The Original fuel pump on my D2a finally died after nearly 300,000K's much of which was offroad and towing.
I can't be bothered working out the math But that pump and filter would have pumped a Massive amount of fuel over the last 17 years.
Well my D2 is 22yrs old, what's your point?
So Exactly what is wrong with the design of the genuine assembly considering mine lasted 17 years/300,000K's??
I don't believe I said there was anything was wrong with the original design, apart from having the filter AFTER the fuel pump.
I understand that we can "Cobble" together an alternative pump/filter arrangement at a lesser cost BUT will that cheap setup be as reliable as the genuine article?
I wouldn't call replacing a genuine bosch pump with another genuine bosch pump "Cobble together an alternative pump/filter arrangement" and as far as the fuel filter, I chose to install an external filter for ease of replacement.
