    Air con permanent removal

    Hi fellas,

I'm about to remove the the air con components under the bonnet but leave the stuff in the dash in place. I don't like air con, it gives me a nose bleed and anyway, we don't really need it here in Christchurch, NZ. If it gets hot the dog just sticks her head out of the window so I just follow her lead

I would like to confirm tho by disconnecting the electrical part of it will that affect anything with the heater system, or BCU or any other thing? I always run the heater system in econo mode and really only need it for heat.

And in case your wondering why? I want to mount the winch relay in the condenser space. And I suppose a small side benefit would be a more direct flow of air to the water rad.

    Cheers, James NZ

Hi, the heating and ventilation will not be affected, all you'll get will be the beeps at start up after the system self check when the digital unit warns you that there is a fault present as it will find the open circuit on the sensor an compressor then it goes to default on that side then the rest will work.

If you don't like the aircon why not just not turn it off

econo mode turns the A/C off. Nothing to do with the heater.
Turn it off, leave it in. Easier all round.
