    Rear Airconditioner to a non-rear aircon D2

    Hi mates,

If someone could give me some lights of fitting factory rear aircon, in the case I have a full D2 donor with full set of rear aircon running?

    1. Is that possible a straight move from a donor car (Auto D2) to my D2a Manual?

    2. Anyone did that before could give me some hints?

    Thanks heaps.

After reading many different posts on the net, I found some LR diagram and plan for the system.

Also, after checking my front AC pipes in my D2a 03 Manual (left side next to ABS module) I could see there are 2x waiting T connectors which one is on the Low pipe, one is on the High pipe. These waiting ports are covered by a plastic screw type plug with L and H name on tops.

This leads to my temporary conclusions that there is likely a Removable and Plug n Play style for the rear Airconditioner into any D2. Just needs to regas after joining the new pipes.

The last mysterious piece of information is if there are waiting power/control plug at the back of the car.

Anyone could join me and give more info? I am close to getting a whole donor D2a now after finding above diagram.

The "ports" you are referring to are the high and low pressure sides and are for gassing and evacuation ,they are valves.
Can't be more helpful as I haven't done this job but I think by the time you were half way through it you would be dreaming of the simple days when all you were replacing was a starter motor

Thanks for the input. I see there are loads of work, but it looks in a very straight forward order now.

Very last question to me is if electrical ports are ready or need to modify.

    Update?

I just came across this thread and am wondering how you went with this? I’m thinking about doing it myself.
