Moving from D2a Td5 to D2 with ACE and air suspension? Is it worth or not?

I am thinking of changing my current D2a td5 to a D2 td5 with ACE and air suspension.

Something my D2a has (that D2 does not):
    - 16p motor
    - Center Diff lock

Something D2 has (that I am thinking)
    - 10p motor
    - No Center diff lock
    - ACE system working
    - Air suspension

Is this worth or not worth a change?

(we do not mention about coins changed hands in this case, just about technical changes)

Have you considered keeping your D2a and retrofitting SLS?

That would be my preference as I would prioritise the centre diff lock and 16P motor above ACE ( even though ACE is really great)
    Cheers

It made me a bit hard to think. I do not use Centre diff lock much, and I do not think there is much difference between 10p and 16p motor especially with my general use.

I do not know how hard the retrofitting SLS is waiting for me?

Unless the d2a is in bad shape,I wouldn't.

There are a stack of changes between the two, from motor (more economical) to body mounts to upgraded steering box, better headlight retaining setup, better intercooler, different tuning available between low range and high range, upgraded slabs ecu which is more fault tolerant, upgraded EAT computer, and much much more!

Definitely prefer ace and sls though...sls is a doddle to reinstate if it has been removed, if it never had it, probably isn't worth the bother.

    Cheers

I reckon it's reasonably easy to transfer the ACE & SLS componantry across and inform the SLABS with a Nanocom.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Thanks James for your idea, I would change asap if it is another D2a with ACE and SLS even if I have to bring a bag of coins into the xchange.

My D2a is in (much) better condition than the other D2 I referred to.

The wreck I had had ACE. It looked quite labour intensive to swap it over, so much so that I didn't seriously contemplate it. SLS, on the other hand, does look easy, as long as you can find a compressor...

It seems that the main reason for asking this question in the first place stems from ACE. That seems to be the main point of difference. OK, people who have it seem to like it, but I drove Mario's car to Wombat, and I'm driving mine now, and I'm not so sure, even though I know there are advantages. Then I saw how lucky Mario was when a hose blew, and I reckon I'll stay right away from it thanks. How he didn't roll it is beyond me.

So, we have a D2a, with all the stuff, but SLS is needed. Retrofitting SLS is a far cry from doing that with ACE. So, downgrade from a D2a to a D2 is the only viable option... No way would I do that.

Buy a D3 if you want those bells. It does it far better.
