    Does this Discovery 2 exist?

    Hi all,

I think sometime ago I saw an UK D2 ad but unsure of details as it was too long time ago and did not have any intention to remember it.

So my question is, does LR make a D2a (or D2) in a form of a HSE equivalent that has all of those things:

    - Manual gearbox
    - ACE
    - SLS
    - Leather trim
    - Electric and heated seats
    - Rear airconditioner
    - Dual sunroofs

Yes, may need to buy a manual SE and add the options
D2a Td5 Manual, Chawton White. aka "Daisy"
    Build date 11th Oct 2003
Freelander 2 2011, manual, the daughter calls it Perri
Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

    Not any more

Still, I suppose someone might have ticked the options box for all of that. It'd be a nice car. And manuals were more common in the UK.

I thought, apart from the gearbox, everything on that list was standard on an HSE.
In this country Td5 was not available on an HSE, until the D3 had been released then a very limited number were sent from the large stock of superseded UK cars.
John, not only is a manual transmission more common in the UK, but automatics are quite rare.
A Pommie flabottomist saw me pull up one day and enquired about my car. She couldn't get over how many cars in this country are automatic. She said that usually, in the UK, only people with disabilities speced autos.

okie, then what do you think which way will be easier? or what do you vote for?

1- buying a great condition HSE and convert to manual (getting a full donor Manual D2/D2a on the side)

2- or waiting for months/years to see one imported SE with full options coming up (with unknown condition). I haven't seen anything like that in the last 3 years in Au market.

Do the conversion or learn to appreciate the automatic.

Take no notice of Bohica, he's only a shonky wheelbarrow dealer.

What's the fascination with a manual?
