Advice on td5 and v8 airbox

    Hi everyone

Im in need off some wisdom from some of the more experienced disco owners.

Long story short, are the airboxes, airbox to snorkel joints and snorkels on a td5 interchangeable with a v8?

I have d2a v8 and im looking a snorkels and airboxes from a few wreckers and people parting out cars. I obviously don't have access to a td5 for comparison.

I'm sure someone on here has owned both models and may be able to offer some insight.

    Cheers everyone

AFAIK the TD5 and 4.0l air boxes are the same.

The US 4.6 used a different top cover, I think the inlet pipe and MAF are larger?

Ok so in theory i "should" be able to take a second hand snorkel, inlet pipe and airbox (my top lid is broken) from a second hand td5 and slap it together in my 4.0

Just Google on online parts catalogue to double check, but I'm guessing so.

I know the flex hose between the guard and air box is the same, I'm running a US V8 spec aftermarket silicone hose on the TD5,' (to replace that ridiculous fibre thing that looks like it's WW2 vintage) with a genuine Saudi (V8) cold air intake inside the guard.

You haven't got any photos of that setup by any chance? Sounds awesome

The Td5 and V8 airboxes are actually different, but thats not to say they arent interchangable.

The Td5 has a duck bill and a hiclone in the bottom of it. I cant recall the difference in the top.
    Cheers
