Just be careful if you separate the top piston from the bottom one, as the seal is not an oring but some multi piece device.
My original jack had a bent top piston, so I bought another one from a wrecker in Victoria .
I then tried to fix the original one by reaming out the bottom piston to allow for the bend.
I replaced the seal with an oring and it does work , but I do not trust it .
I now store it in a plastic zip bag that will tell me how much oil is leaking. It is usually not much but builds up over the years. It usually leaks out of the bottom where the outside attaches to the base, as it is sealed by an oring.
