DII Rear Bumpers - all the same?

    Hi All,
Hard as it may seem to believe, our DIIA bumper scrunched itself when SWMBO backed it into the Ex-Army SIII's brush bar. So, looking at used DII rear bumpers, are they all the same, even through the rear lamp layout changed with the MY03? 'Cause I may be able to get my hands on an earlier model. Thanks knowledgeable ones.

I thought the only difference was if it had parking sensors or not. I’m not 100% on that though.

When some goose in a Mazda forgot to stop behind me, I found aftermarket steel bars and genuine plastic bars to be very similar in price. The former was more readily sourced and far more robust.

When I had my rear bar replaced on my D2a with a steel one it was roughly half the price of a new plastic bar and Yes the steel bars are a Much better option on a 4WD than that silly plastic bit of rubbish that came with the D2a originally

    Rear Steel Bar

Having just fitted a rear steel bar would strongly recommend one of these - at $700 odd removes the durability issues and are exceedingly easy to fit!

The D2a had different lights in the bumper, and reversing sensors, but i think the actual bumper is identicle on all D2's.

Snap! going home from a weekend camping with the kids. Stop start traffic, I may have been doing 8kph. I checked the rear view mirror, saw her on her phone, looked ahead, no room to move. Put the brakes full on, crump! Quoted $1600 to repair, RACV would only pay $1500. Rear bar $630, side steps, $1100. Win win.

Rear bar and rock sliders for $200. I could have pocketed $850.
By the way, an old guy ran into the car parked in front of mine, and buggered up the crush cans and slightly bent the bull bar. His insurance provided an winch bar and removed an existing dent from the fender.
The off roader that insurance paid for!!
