Hey Vinnie. I am wanting one as well. Maybe we could get two together and reduce shipping costs.

The only problem might be it would push the cost over $1000 which would attract GST and import charges.

I recently purchased an Allisport radiator and I got hit for $277 for the above.

Does anyone know if they would look at the individual cost of each item or would it just be looked at the total price of the package?

Discorevy. Did you get slugged GST and import charges on your package?

    And definitely plain not black
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Tried doing that with a Nanocom order a few weeks ago for $1,206. Got hit with $250 import duty, so it ain't worth it. They assess on the total $$ of the package.

    Hi Dave,

Definitely interested if under $1000. I would think that if they come in together that would be classed as the value, not individually unfortunately. I will make some enquiries later today as I will have to order one ASAP and I still use my car everyday and need to get tank replaced.

    Cheers,

    Vinnie

I've been changing a few out recently , these rolled up the other day. 2 are the power steering reservoir
I get the in built low coolant float version... spot on.
Twice the price of a genuine replacement but well worth it

Edit : The blingy cap finishes it off, the tank I've linked to will suit the car in your signature

Would you get the one with the sight glass &/or switch? I'm not mechanically great so like to be able to see where levels are at, but would having the sight glass cause problems? Is the switch necessary? Is the standard cap good or would be the Aluminium one be better?

You won't be slugged import charges for 2 header tanks as the amount should be less than $1000
Send me a PM if it's not
Be aware DHL and UPS bump up their already inflated costs over the Christmas / new year period but you will see what they are at checkout

No problem with sight glass version as you can remove it for cleaning , the switch is very much worth it even if it saves you from cooking the engine only once ( especially the V8 )
Standard cap is flimsy and not in keeping with the otherwise exceptional quality of the tank but it works

When I get mine it will have both switch and sight glass.

And I will then be finding the loudest alarm I can get.

    Maybe a train horn

If you say blew a hose which created a large leak, the alarm would sound long before any engine damage.

And the sight glass would be very handy for a regular glance when bonnet lifted for any reason.

This would help identify a slow leak without the need to remove cap and having to get a torch to look into the container.

When they calculate the cost for taxes does this include item and freight or just the item?

A quick check tells me two of these would come in around $780. I am sure freight would be more than $220 which would take it over $1000.

Vinnie, if this does work out, I would be happy for it all to be sent to your place and you could hang onto mine until I organized getting it.

The blingy cap fits over the crappy, supplied generic cap. I replaced the included cap with a Triton brand cap from Repco, the blingy cap merely holds the generic cap proper.
