Nothing is missing, that is absolutely normal how it is.
Hi All,
Long time lurker, first time poster. Just got a 2004 Disco 2 td5 auto, looking underneath today i noticed this threaded hole with nothing in it.
I looked through rave and did a google but couldnt see a mention of it. Is anyone able to shed some light on if I am missing something in here.

Its the drain hole to let contaminants out of the bell housing. My much earlier LT95 manual has the same hole but just to the left of it is a screw in plug that screws into the drain hole when you ford creeks etc to stop water getting into the bell housing. Once fording is completed you remove the screw in plug and put it back into its receptical.
While your bell housing still has the drain hole it may have done away with the screw in plug. If you find a square headed screw in plug near the drain hole that is what it is for. D2 owners might want to clarify if it is still installed.

It's for the timing tool to screw in to lock on TDC number 1 cylinder
As mentioned, nothing normally goes there
