If you are referring to the one behind the handbrake drum, then Start by finger, then tighten it with a 1/2" WOBBLE extension. Allows you to get a few degrees of extra clearance.
I have done this before, a few times, not working this time. 40 mins of trying, I think I gt the plug located, I just can't turn it to start the threads!! Bloody annoying. Ah well, I'll have a cup of tea and do the gearbox R380 and front diff while I wait for inspiration, hint hint, this means you!
Cheers

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Quickly. Hold in place, unscrew gently until you feel the threads ride over, screw up by hand, then tighten mechanically.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Thanks, the secret LR technique. I did manage to get in, by just rotating forwards. About 6 mins post cup of tea and a rest.
Could not undo the R380 drain plug. I have a long 32mm spanner and I just did not have the muscle power to loosen it, which is odd as I tightened it up with that spanner.
Sadly the oil flowed out of the fill port i.e. too much oil. The oil looked hmm milky!

Just re the transfer case filler.
I find a 1/2 to 3/8 adaptor , then a 3/8 wobble extension does the trick better than a 1/2 inch wobble as it is thinner .
