Way to expensive with that big dent down the side.
Probably need to upgrade to bluetooth
Cant remember fuel use but probably around 10l/100
Looking for a daily driver to work. Leave the defender for the weekend. How does the 4speed good on the highway? As it is all 100km/h driving to work. What's the fuel consumption of a TD5? Better than my Tdi defender. Is the TD5 reliable?

Cheers guys. Didn't notice the damage on the right hand side. Good spotting.
Next.
Have you checked the Marketplace on this site?
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
my guess is a vinyl wrap with a low sheen finish.
I'm thinking to do same to my D1 .. the glare when driving into a low sun ... drives me mad!
Most likely clear coat has peeled, as many do so vinyl is an easy quick option.
I'm thinking of doing only my central flat area .. don't like the entire flat sheen look.
For the OP .. yeah, TD5 can be made reliable if it hasn't already.
I used mine for a good 6 months as my daily(until brother wanted it back!)
IIRC I did about 13K klms in those 6 months, zero issues .. other than the ones that came with the car, which I slowly sorted over time.
Fuel, with a good tune I reckon should get under 10l/100.
Before I got a tune, and with a very silly roof rack arrangement that knocks fuel use badly .. I was getting about 12-13 in most highway driving.
Once the tune got uploaded, the fuel use both in city and highway improved considerably.. settling at about 11/100 on the highway.
I reckon ..... minus the huge rack with shovel, hi-lift, some plastic tubes for sand flag, and spare sinning in the twin tube rack design .. it could get as little as about 9/100.
On my tdi D1, I have a flat roof rack which I fit when I need. Light Aluminium, so easy for my to remove myself too.
With and without, and being a flat single rail type(with mesh) I see about 1km/lt difference between off and on(sorry I personally use km/lt for fuel usage) ..
If you get a standard tune TD5 .. can't help re fuel consumption, as the TD5 I had(which is/was/is brothers) had a TRS tune already in it. I then changed the auto ECU, which drove a bit better, but then had the tune tweaked to make it more usable again(cruise control issues).
This second tune/tweak bumped the fuel consumption lower than before.
With the D2 prices .. D2a is a lot more expensive than non D2a .. and there's not many D2a around by comparison.

I have a D2a with TD5, comfortable on the highway 100kph at about 2300rpm. Fuel economy wise, I dont record diligently but mine is generally in the order of 12l / 100km (standard TD5, EGR delete, TRS mild ECU remap). At highway speed, not towing, nothing on the roof, the best I have got is about 10l / 100km. I rarely go through a tank of fuel that doesnt include some off road, towing a 2 tonne camper, or lots of stop start suburban driving, so I haven't 'interrogated' the fuel economy. TRS remap was to get more power for towing, and wow what a difference!
$13K seems a bit steep
