Get it from a motor trimmer also, they will sell it in spray can form and in a drum. Get it in the can because you need a nice even coat and it sprays out like spider webs. The drum you need to run it through a special spray gun to get the same effect, I've tried brushing it on but it can soak through the material if pressed too hard and doesn't grab when it's applied thick. Generally 1 can is enough for most cars but I'd get at least 2 for the disco because it's a larger area to cover. Don't use kwik grip in a can or drum from bunnings etc, it dosnt grab like other brands do and dosnt withstand the heat. I've heard good things about 3M super77 brand but never have used it personally, I've always used what the motor trimmer has in stock as its guaranteed to work, it's generally cheaper than mainstream hardware/auto stores and better quality also.

I did mine using the 2 meter wide material mentioned before, ie. Montana felt. does not have the 'foam' backing.
The foam breaks down over time and is why it falls down.
The common rolls seen on ebay etc. are not wide enough for a D2./D1.

I understand why there is a reluctance for auto trimmers to do work on these vehicles. Having had my D2 hood liner done a number of times every part about the job becomes a liability for the installer as all the plastic trim components become extremely brittle, the hood liner shell gets to point of basically disintegrating the second row nets are essentially old stretched undies with broken elastic and somehow there seems to be a general belief by clients that the vehicle when it was dropped off was like new! I do not envy these guys or the agro they go through for such a small dollar value and admittedly simple job.
My auto trimmers are at the point they will not do any more Discos however my 1994 &96 Jeep XJs they will do without any questions or problems at all.
My experience with the D2 is if you can pull the hood shell out and clean it yourself then drop off to auto trimmer you will have a lot better and more cost effective outcome.
