    D2 Indicators wired weirdly.

    I just fitted a bullbar with indicators to my 2002 D2 TD5 .

I then fitted LEDs to my old indicators so that the trailer indicator would not light , but found that they would not work.
So I pulled the indicator out and put an incandescent bulb back in and it worked.
    Huh?
The polarity of the LED must be wrong as I checked it with + to centre and - to side and it was OK.

Then I checked the polarity of the socket and the + is to the side of the bulb and negative to the centre????????

The positive is Green with white tracer to RH indicator and I have checked the circuit diagram . The socket only attaches one way.

Another devious trick by LR engineers to ensure that positive earth grounding lives on.

Now I will have to cut the wires and reverse them. What a crock?
    Regards PhilipA

OK I was correct. switched black to meet green /white and vice Versa and LED now works and trailer light does not come on with indicators. Hooray.

It would have been easier to fit LEDs to the bullbar.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Seeing I had already crimped the wires to the bullbar lights just behind the normal car indicator bulb socket the effort was about equal.
The LED bulbs arrived just after I had finished the job.
On second thought yes I guess I could have just switched over the blade connectors on the bullbar but I could reach the indicators on the car easier where it was parked. The bullbar indicators are a bit dodgy as they are held in with long self tappers and it is a fiddle to get them in the correct place.
BUT I still think the whole thing is weird.
