    Upgraded Map sensor

I got the car remapped a while ago in Sydney and if I accelerate to quickly... more so up hills it loses a bit of power. If I buy a bosch 4bar sensor would that fix the problem of the sensor not handling the boost pressure? I am going to go back to where I got it done eventually to have them sort it but thought this could save me the drive into Sydney..... eventually I want to replace the turbo with a VNT to increase pressure any way.

Bosch 0281002316 seems to be the upgraded sensor people are using. Is this just a plug and play or is this something I would need to get redone with the ECU?

It's not plug and play unless the fuel map is addapted to that sensor's reading curve, if the remap was not made for that kind of sensor you'll do more harm than good by replacing it

seems that you have a kind of overboost situation which migh have nothing to do with the MAP sensor, check the wastegate modulator's and valve's pipework.... eventually unplug the electrical conector of the modulator and if that helps you have to replace it ...if your's is 15+P engine unplug the MAF and test drive it so to see hat happens
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned

Isn't the stock sensor good for ~ 26 psi with a remap?

Will a sensible DD VNT go above this anyway?

    I don't know.

Standard sensor won't read out to 26 psi, I've had them out a fair way but not that far.

But you are correct about vnt, most don't do great pressure ratios , the biggest gain is low rpm performance, i.e. lag reduction, but they choke out pretty bad on max flow.

Like a GTB 550 for instance?

I did say most.. Not all.

I'm guessing they are pretty good although I haven't seen any air flow figures.

I have seen the dyno runs, they look impressive, but up until the last couple years, available vnt packages have been lack lustre.
