    Question: have brass diff plugs

Got these as one plastic plug is rounded. Can I seal with white plumbers tape. Or do I need an o-ring?

They should have come with a new o-ring or if i remember correctly the original plastic ones should have an o-ring in them?

If they have no o-ring a copper washer is the go.
Or some gasket sealant,I use aviation gasket liquid sealant, from autobarn, just put some on the thread
Be carefull with thread tape as pieces can get into the diff oil.

The original plastic ones had an o- ring..

I swapped out those useless plastic plugs on my D2a when I first bought it.
I used copper washers on tbe brass plugs and it is one of the places on tbat Landrover that never leaked

Got the front diff plug out after banging in a red hot screwdriver and letting it set. Put 1/2" NPT brass plugs in used plumbers tape but will swap out for a copper washer when they arrive.
