If the computer thinks a door is open, it will prevent suspension adjustment. Is the door position taken from the latch or the light switch?
Hi , I have a 2003 Discovery 2 that had a problem when I jump started it and it blew a heap of fuses. I've replaced them all, and now everything is working again except the radio and the air suspension, and it has the 4 amigoes.
I bought a Nanocom understanding that there might be a fault code that needed to be cleared for the suspension to resume, but the only code was to do with the ABS modulator, whcih I understand is the 4 amigoes, fine, there is a set of fixes for that.
Frustratingly, the SLABS section of Nanocom can't raise the vehicle,. and the Target Height settings can't be saved, but it can read the current height. Is the body computer fried in some way, or is there something else I need to look at? The car also thinks the passenger door is open, no matter the state of the actual door, does this prevent any activity at all with the air suspension? Does it prevent the saving of target heights (not likely but the guys who coded this stuff don't seem to have thought things through totally).
Here's what I think I need to do
1. Test and possibly replace passenger door lock which I think is what tells the car that the door is open
2, See if air suspension works
3. If same, replace SLABS computer and re-test
4. Or change to coils on rear and re-set air suspension setting, which loses the self-levelling but I'm a bit over it the car has been sitting for months and there's no mechanic nearby.
Thanks if anyone has any suggestions or if I've missed anything.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I'm with Ian, I can't remember what settings are on the nano, but I'm guessing it tells you which door is open?
If so, thinking laterally, it must be the switch for that door.
You may not get any action until you fix that.
Although.... Now I think of it, I seem to remember adjusting the height with the drivers door open, nano on seat... But my memory is shot!
Hi, The SLS compressor is disabled when a door is considered open in normal operation mode/while driving but this should be no factor for nanocom output tests or calibration, the compressor(provided it's not dead) or settings should react to nanocom command regardless of door positions also when nanocom reports "passenger" door you can't actually know which one cos all the door switches(tail door included) are connected in parallel(driver's door excluded)so when one of them is open the BCU gets an earth input on the common wire, the driver's door has it's own separate circuit. The switches are within the latch actuators. To see which door is considered open you have to unplud the actuators one by one and the problem is at the last unplugged before "passenger" door doesnt report as being opened.
IMO you should replace the SLABS ECU cos it's suspect
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
Did you try the SLS each side testing in the Nanocom?? This will certainly tell you if the system is working and as to needing a new Slabs unit
I for one would not be removing the SLS, just keep a spare bag and sensor in the D2 and do the Bagpipeandy kit when. Re the spare bag even one of the cheap ebay ones and making sure you have the right air connection, not a biggie as getting a push connection to replace the cheap airbags screw ins are also available on ebay
2004 Discovery 2a TD5 Auto Aspen Green AKA Robin
2000 Discovery 2 TD5 Auto Alverston Red AKA Edward
1997 Discovery 1 TDi Manual White - Gone but not forgotten
1994 Discovery 1 V8 Auto - Gone once it consumed half the worlds resource of oil
This all happened after jump starting the car as stated you replaced some blown fuses after the jump start I think I would be getting another SLAB unit sounds like it my not of taken to the jump start to kindly.
