    Td5 oil pump Gear issue

Hi, 3 Td5s oil pump gears I have pulled apart are scored and scratched.

Is this normal or abnormal thing with them and where is the best place to get a good second hand one?

    Thanks

Maybe its normal? maybe its related to not replacing seals if oil's leaking dirt can get in ?

I am rebuilding a 80 series with a 1FZ-FE at the moment and the oil pump looked like that, but it was also leaking like a sieve from lots of gaskets around the place, so I am guessing dirt?

    It definitely is not normal.
Looks like sand in through the intake.
I would be looking at a whole
"new" assembly as the end floats will be buggered also.
I don't know whether the pumps have some excess capacity to maintain oil pressure but it doesn't look good to me.
What do the bores look like and the bearings because that is where the oil goes next.
    Regards PhilipA
