    wheel stud thread size

    Hi all I need to retap a wheel nut and want to run a die over my wheel studs can any one tell me what size and thread type they are.

    Wheel nuts and studs are not that expensive, Wouldn't it be better to replace any defective nuts/studs instead of trying to repair them

    Sounds like they've been over torqued with the old rattle gun so would agree with 'trout1105'.
    Otherwise you may experience them breaking at some inconvenient location.
