    Transmission shudder hesitation

    Please help!
Issue started 6months or so ago, think I may of overheated transmission off-roading in some mud.
Initially symptoms lead me to believe a misfire/hesitation, so started looking and servicing/replacing the usual things like fuel air filter, maf sensor, wastegate and solenoid even did injector harness and replaced whole engine harness. Didn’t make a difference and took to Justin Cooper Landrover specialist in Hobart. No error codes and he said maybe transmission. So did oil/filter change with not much fragments to be concerned. No difference so did another change. Over time has gotten worse.
Now it shudders bad in drive when picking up speed but when changing through 1-2-3 manually and top speed in D, it’s fine??!!
Was about to buy a replacement box from Ashcroft but then also heard it could be electrical ECU issue??
Anyone have any ideas or should I just change the box out hoping that’s the issue??

Handbrake drum full of mud or shoes out of adjustment / sticking could possibly cause that.
