Have a look at this link
    Td5 Standalone Harness / Loom

I have no idea who these guy's are or their level of knowledge,
but according to them it's either a "black box" to send the code or an ECU re-flash to delete the code requirement
I think you did miss the point that SF was making. Don’t end up buying something that you don’t need and that may comprise the reliability of your vehicle. Re program your BCU to achieve what you want. Land Rover have allowed for that…

I understand all that, the point I was making is that it's the ECU that needs reprogramming not the BCU <- to achieve what I want.

But in all honesty (not to upset SF) I'm going to get the standalone black box. It'll do what I need and more.
For me it really is the best option.
I am going to try SF's suggestion first though

    2. I am going to try SF's suggestion first though
    1. IMHO for the immobiliser setting the ECU will be programmed through the BCU which sends the proper info on the data bus and the ECU will adapt to that...happens the same like with cruise control which is managed by the ECM but enabled/disabled through the BCU settings

    2. try that maybe you'll see that you dont need that emulator once the alarm is "not fitted"| ...
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
