    Rear doughnut

    I think I know the answer to this, cost. Instead of the bush that prevent radial movement, you could have 2 triangular pieces of metal, one each side that bolts onto the doughnut. This would stop the radial movement, it would not affect the tangential movement. I wonder how long the doughnut would last without the radial movement.

    I cant imagine it would retain alignment and you would end up with vibrations given the donut is flexible. The spigot retains radial alignment of the prop/flange where the 2 plates wouldn’t do that assuming I’m understanding your concept correctly. The tail shaft flange and the pinion flange are doing the same thing anyway.

    If I could be shagged I'd knock one up... I think it would maintain alignment. The metals plate are bolted to the prop shaft ob one side and the diff on the other. It couldn't move. Bl;alnsing the plates could be tricky!

    I just picked up an RRC propshaft and diff with the pinion flange to suit.
    Doughnut delete has to be a better option?

    More of a pain in the arse to fix the rear diff to suit, I think.
