    transfer case bolt stripped

Hi all my transfer case has been leaking so on inspection I found that the top left stud and nut set up had been stripped the size seems to be 8mmx1.25. My question is how much meat is around those stud set ups can I go 8mmx1.5 and be strong enough or can I go 10x1.5 any help would be great.
    Thanks Phil

It’s probably just been over tightened rather than it being a design problem. I’d just replace it with another nut and stud which is the same.

You cant go to M8x1.5 as the drilling size is smaller than an M8x1.25. Not that you would want to do that anyway.
