Has some very good gear on it.
If you are planning on registering it be careful of tyre sizes
33's are 4" bigger than standard so will require engineering.
Don't know enough about diff ratios to comment.
If all working correctly would be a very capable car suitable for tuff tracks & would show a few patrols & cruisers the way forward.
Anything sold by LRA and Ashcroft in my opinion are quality stuff.
I have a lot of both and could not be happier.
Yes.
All nice and dandy, note that the axles appear and front uni joints appear standard, no mention of the brakes??? You could be lucky as they do not have appeared to spared expense and they have actually upgraded these as well, worth the ask.
As far as the gearing goes, have done three charts, one the standard D2, what I have 4.37 and 32's. and the diffs and tyres as mentioned - 4.75 and 33's

With the 4.37 and 32's am happy with the compromise of off road ratio's versus on road increase in revs, once at speed the engine is relativity quiet but there is extra noise and the speedo out correspondingly, this of course will much greater again with this setup.
Just to clarify here. 4.11/4.12 diffs bring the effective gearing back to standard (or close to) when running 33" tyres. 4.88 diffs would be correct for standard gearing if you were running about 40" tyres, which admittedly I would enjoy seeing!
Also, speedo calibration on the Disco2 comes via the ABS sensors, it is independant of the driveline gearing so a ratio change wont affect the speedo. Well, unless you have a manual transmission and that is in relation to the cruise control operation (or lack of).
I know and have seen that disco in real life, it's nice and all but some stuff should of been done or upgraded for that price point
I have now with the motor rebuild spent over $75,000 on my d2a but can't sell it for more that $18k
So that original price is a bit high for that stuff
Bit confused with this statement. On my D2 with the 4.37 and 32's my speedo readings are out -10% (as well as Nanocom readout) with this against three sat nav speeds (phone, dashboard readout and rear vision camera/mirror sat nav). With the three calculations I did with the Ashcroft's Ratio Calculator, the corresponding revs for standard versus mine at 100kph -2249rpm and 2512rpm which is almost perfectly -10%, so yes the speedo will be out with different gearing and therefore over 15% with the 4.8's and 33's.You would get 39.11 in Low Range first as a benefit against the standard 29.15 - for mine, 35.98 was a more than reasonable out come for the extra 10% revs on the freeway.
Think even 37's would be an impressive sight on a D2, might rub on the back of the headlights though...
For the D2, it doesn't matter if you're running 3.54, 4.11, 4.37 or 4.88, the speedo will still read the same. Speedo correction is done by modifying the resultant outgoing ABS signal. You could even remove both tailshafts, get a tow and have a speedo reading.
But as you've done, absolutely if you're looking to change the effective ratio for what you need! The 4.88's will be pretty low too for playing in low range!
Did you say rubbing on the back of headlights! :lol2: This was just on FB Td5 Mafia (its not mine!).
