They don't tend to go out of adjustment by themselves, but obviously if things have been moved by someone, then it's possible.Quote:

That was the point of my question. There isn't a whole lot of scope for adjustment but it's a little tricky sometimes getting it right on your own.Quote:

If you hunt around you might find a secondhand switch to rebuild so you don't need to have the car off the road.
Oh yeah, if it IS the switch then there's a thread or two about relocating the A/C drain.......

My local Landrover specialist rebuilt the XYZ switch for a reasonable price.
Really firmed up the gearshift movement.
They recycle D2's as well so possible they could rebuild one for you.

Must have done something else while they were at it. XYZ switch alone shouldn't do that on its own. It just piggybacks on the selector shaft.Quote:
