When I dropped $5k on the transmission reco last Easter I was hoping that would be the last big expense for a while. 9 months later...
I am certainly torn, the pragmatic in me says walk away before you spend your house deposit on a car that has more parts becoming obsolete every week, the rest of me disagrees vehemently.
I guess if I could do most of the repairs at home that would cut that cost significantly, but, without having yet looked into the process of dealing with shocks, springs and tie rods, I don't have the utmost confidence in my capability to do the job right.
I hadn't touched a thing on a car before I bought my Disco and I sure have come a long way since but, still.
If there was someone here based in Melbourne Metro who was willing to assist without charging me mechanics rates, I would certainly be interested in chatting with them!
Isn’t there a similar risk buying anything else SH?
